#GladtoCare Awareness Week 2022
How did #GladtoCare start?
Person Centred Software launched their #GladtoCare campaign in 2018. It was designed to boost the profile of carers, who work extremely hard with very little public recognition. The campaign’s aim was to show carers that they are appreciated and to raise their morale. For 2020 Person Centred Software wanted to create a #GladtoCare awareness week is dedicated to celebrating those who work in the care sector, following an incredibly trying period for the industry – and invite other care providers to get involved.
During the awareness week, it is important for us to be grateful for those who take care of us. Whether you live in a care home, have live-in or mobile carers or even carers within your family, now is the time to show your appreciation and share it with the world.
To get involved in the #GladtoCare awareness week there is an activity every day!
On Monday, there is Motivation Monday, to kickstart the week. Simply share a photo or video to social media with the hashtag #GladtoCare.
On Tuesday, hold a cooking competition in your care home with staff and residents. May the tastiest recipe win! But don’t forget to share all your delicious meals on your social media channels using the hashtag #GladtoCare.
On Wednesday, to prepare for Care Home Open Week, welcome everyone to your care home by giving a virtual tour and showcasing all the wonderful spaces and activities that happen daily.
On Thursday, it is Thankful Thursday. All carers and residents should tell us why they are thankful for their other carers and residents and post their words of appreciation on social media using the hashtag #GladtoCare.
On Friday, To round off the week together, we encourage everyone to get involved and share their feel-good moments on social media using #GladtoCare.
